CSR and ESG at Esko
At Esko, we are deeply committed to conducting our business responsibly towards the environment, society, and our business practices. Our approach to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) is an integral part of our overall CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) strategy, where we strive to integrate sustainability into all aspects of our business, from production to employee care. We are dedicated to making a positive impact on both the climate and the communities we are part of.

Sustainability and Climate Responsibility
At Esko, we are aware of our responsibility for the climate, even though steel processing can be challenging in terms of sustainability. Since 2019, we have implemented energy-saving measures and are now exploring the possibility of installing solar panels, as district heating is not an option in our area. We also focus on our material suppliers and their CO2e emissions to minimize our overall environmental impact.
Social Responsibility and Working Environment
We are continuously working to create a good workplace with opportunities for apprentices. We collaborate closely with Tech College in Aalborg and offer apprenticeship contracts for the entire training period to ensure security and quality in education. Each apprentice is assigned a mentor who follows them throughout the process, and we offer permanent positions to almost all apprentices after their training is completed.
Climate Report and Data Collection
Our climate report is based on data from the Climate Compass and our ERP system. We have chosen to prepare a climate report to document our progress and ongoing efforts to reduce our CO2e emissions.
Ownership and Company Profile
Esko is owned by Søren Esko Nielsen and Samuel Rønn Holland and employs 26 people. Founded in 1946, the company has developed into a modern machine factory with specialized employees and an advanced machinery park. We are located in Støvring, Himmerland, and primarily work with the processing of stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum.
UN Sustainable Development Goals
We have selected UN Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education) and 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) as our focus areas. We work on waste sorting and recycling of by-products to promote responsible consumption and production. Our collaboration with Tech College in Aalborg ensures that we contribute to quality education by taking on a large proportion of apprentices relative to the size of our company.
